Hilary Duff Pops…
Here’s the thing:
- I have one or two Hilary Duff songs on my iPod.
- She seems like a lovely young lady, actually. Sort of mellow and not all whorey and stuff like her counterparts in the business.
- I can't believe I just used the phrase "lovely young lady." I'm old. *tear*
- It was very nice of her to host a free concert for military families in Fayetteville, North Carolina, home to Fort Bragg.
However (and you knew this was coming, didn’t you?) her performance was titled “Hilary Duff Rocks for the Troops.”
The thing is, Hilary Duff does not “rock.” Hilary Duff sings lyrics that go: “Laugh it off let it go and when you wake up it will seem so yesterday, so yesterday. Haven't you heard that I'm gonna be okay.”
She writes songs titled “Day in the Sun” and “Inner Strength.” Hilary Duff has a Christmas album. And in the history of Christmas albums, their performers don’t “rock.” Not to say they’re not good – Nat King Cole, Clay Aiken, Mariah Carey, The Three Tenors, The Muppets…you see where I’m going here, right?
When I think of artists that “rock” I think of AC/DC, The Killers, Panic At The Disco, The Fray, Gwen Stefani, etc.
So perhaps “Hilary Duff Rocks for the Troops” needs a little tweaking. How about “Hilary Duff Pops for the Troops?” Hmm…no, that sounds kind of creepy.
Or maybe “Hilary Duff Sings Songs That Will Prove Mildly Entertaining to Hardened Military Men?”
Yes. Now THAT seems more like it.
Oh, by the way, Hil? What’s with the argyle leg-warmers and Mary Janes? Me no likey.

you really are Kate Romero's best friend. She loves Hilary Duff too. Dressed like her for a party.
