We’ve got ourselves a situation…
There’s something I’m seeing a lot of lately. Namely, inappropriate footwear. To be more specific, boots with…well, non-booty outfits.
Take Kimberly Stewart who, in case you didn’t know, is famous for being Rod Stewart’s daughter and Paris Hilton’s Nicole Richie replacement.
** aside: I realize that I don’t blog about Kimberly Stewart enough. I will change that. **
Anywho, look at this outfit.
I hate it all. The hat, the tunic, the weirdly layered tanktop. But most of all, I hate the shoes. Perhaps if she gave the Leather Man his hat back and put on some strappy sandals I would be able to control my gag reflex. But alas, she chose to wear pointy boots that look like a remnant from daddy’s “Do You Think I’m Sexy” video.
And then there’s Sienna Miller who I usually think dresses quite cute in a weird, hobo meets SoHo chic kind of way. So why she’s wearing these shoes – neither hobo or SoHo – is beyond me.
Maybe Sienna is a huge Michael Jackson fan and is on her way to her weekly fan club meeting where they will reenact the entire Thriller video. That would explain the outfit…or at least the boots.
Then there’s Chloe Sevingny who provides hours of fun for people like me.
Everything about this outfit is wrong…the “Mom shorts,” the stringy hair, the moon boots. But you know what? I think instead of bashing this outfit we should be thanking our lucky stars that she didn’t bust out this ensemble again, though it shall forever remain one of my favorites.
And then there’s bad fashion happening to good people, like Mindy Kaling from The Office who I happen to think is just adorable and terrific on the show.
I’m always amazed by people who can screw up a little black dress. But Mindy shows us that she’s just as talented in that arena as she is on the small screen. Bravo, Mindy. Bravo.
